Arosubamo farmers are located several kilometers South-East of Kundiawa town in the Chuave district of the Simbu Province.
Arosubamo is a smallholder group that owns about 14 hectares of coffee trees and is able to produce about 100 bags of parchment during the peak season.
The members of this group live near and under the famous Elimbari mountain. Some members have easy access to roads while others still have transport difficulty to move their coffee out to the main Highlands highway.
Some of these farmers are already suppliers of the brand ‘Elimbari’ coffee exported by Kongo Coffee to overseas specialty markets.
Arosubamo coffees were assessed by the overseas Q graders and cup results show a high score of 86 pointsand an average score of 83. AROMA: chocolate, citrus, lemongrass, sweet cocoa. Arosubamo coffees scored the highest during the Cupping program organized by the Coffee Industry Corporation and the overseas Q graders in 2011.
This group has a high potential to access specialty markets.
